‘We’ll Take It From Here, Dear’ animation selected for Women Over Fifty Film Festival 2026

Part of the main WOFFF26 programme, the animation is my artistic response to the themes explored in Moving Memory Dance Theatre Company's production “We'll Take It From Here, Dear”. Continuing the company's ethos of placing older women's bodies unapologetically centre stage, the performance confronts the patronising ways older women are silenced, sidelined and spoken for.

Following a self directed residency in 2025, during which I made drawings of the performers in rehearsal, Moving Memory invited me to return in 2026 to create an animation responding to their new production ‘We’ll Take It From Here, Dear’. Through movement and humour, the work portrays these women as they prepare for battle, challenging ageist stereotypes with wit, resilience and determination.
